Having done A levels spectacularly poorly, I joined the Royal Navy at the age of 18 as a Weapon Engineer.  My career progressed well and I was soon promoted to be an officer and eventually reached the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

I had many fantastic experiences in my 19 years in the RN and promotion brought obvious benefits but also many drawbacks that I had not foreseen: as with most sectors these days, there was a seemingly never-ending stream of beurocracy, politics and red tape.

I decided that I wanted something different and put in my 18 months’ notice to leave!  I spent some of this time looking around at what was available and became depressed at the options – they all seemed to have all the same red tape but none of the adventure!  Then I stumbled over FLP almost by accident.  I was incredibly sceptical when I first met the company but was intrigued by what appeared to be possible in FLP and also by the apparent strength of the products.

It took me a while to get my head around it all but I decided to take the plunge and get stuck in!  I immediately started getting good reports on the products from the people I was supplying, which was a great confidence boost, and I found the support that I received whilst getting my feet under the table was exceptional.  Coming from a very structured and strict naval background I struggled with the concept of having so much freedom in my life……but I have subsequently got quite used to it (thank you very much) and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

I am now looking forward to an ever-increasing quality of life as my FLP income continues to grow but whilst my working hours are still decided by nobody but me (borrowing a term from my previous career, I now squeeze a 3 day week into 5 days!).

I was at a crossroads in my life; becoming a single parent, in financial difficulty. A story many people experience in various ways.

I looked at the Forever Living Products opportunity and made a decision to "take a leap of faith" and build a business. I was nervous but very excited about creating a better future for myself and my children. I did not want to "go out to work". I did not want a "boss" anymore. I had a real desire for change in all areas of my life.

Where I may have looked at this opportunity before and dismissed it, and gone back to what I had been brought up to believe was the right way-jobs, I had come to a point in my life where that just wasn't good enough anymore. I wanted FREEDOM, MORE MONEY , and real SECURITY  in my life. And I wanted to actually enjoy what I do for a living.

A few years into building my business with Forever Living Products, everything I was told I would achieve has happened. FLP delivers what it says, as long as you put the effort in. This business gives you real reward for effort, which seems to be lacking in most jobs now.

I now have that freedom. I work around my family. I am there when they play squash or football. I pick them up from school every day at 3.30pm. I have breakfast with them every morning, instead of running out the door to work like most people.

I have a steady income, which comes in on 15th of every month without fail. If I want to increase that income I can. I have that control over my life, that other people want. I go on all expenses paid trips to exotic places now. My car is being paid for by the Company and I am qualifying for profit share on top of my income as well!

My children can see that their mother works hard and is achieving and that's encouraging them to work hard at school and at sport, and they both talk about running a business when they are older.

There is a self employment revolution going on in this country, and this opportunity is one of the finest to get out of the "rat race" and take back your life. I could never work for someone else again, and all this without having to go and see the Bank Manager to get started!

I work from home, have very little overheads and above all I love what I do for a living. Does it get any better than that? Yes! Because I have lots more goals to achieve with FLP, so I constantly challenged and excited about getting up in the morning and increasing my business.

I left school with little to no qualifications and started my working life as an apprentice motor mechanic. Following a severe motorcycle accident I lost my job and then drifted for a few years from one employer to another. I worked for a bus company, drove forklifts, worked for a battery company and more besides.

Eventually I trained and got my HGV Class one lorry driving licence, and then for the next 15 years or so thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being King of the road. I really loved it, I loved the freedom it gave me, and could never see myself doing anything else.

Unfortunately in my early twenties I got ill and was diagnosed with Chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. This took me on a rollercoaster ride of terrible health, many spells in hospital and more drugs than I care to remember, all of which did nothing to stop the illness, but did however cause many other health issues including Stomach Problems, Hiatus Hernia and more besides… all caused by the drugs.

Eventually due to the illness I was forced off the road and onto the Transport Management side of the haulage industry, and too be fair I really enjoyed it. Two years later and off work again due to the illness and needing a major operation my employer promised to hold my job open providing I paid for private treatment to speed up the NHS waiting list.

I opted for this and following a very painful operation, recovery, and then a hefty £4,400 bill, 15 days later my employer came to my home and promptly made me redundant. This all happened in May 1996, and I was shown the FLP opportunity in the October.

I have to admit that like most people I was very sceptical, some said cynical, but I jumped in following a proper look and as they say the rest is history. The products have had a huge impact on my health. I am no longer on over 20 drugs a day. I now take one tablet every other day, and my health is so radically improved thanks to FLP’s wonderful products.

As far as the business side of FLP goes, along with Elaine my partner we have climbed the FLP ladder of success to the position of Senior Managers, and now many years on we are so excited about what FLP has in store for us, our teams and our families.

For us it is a way of life today and we could never see ourselves doing anything else. I wake up when I’ve finished sleeping, I work when I want, I have time for me, time for Elaine and we now have time for our family which I certainly did not have before. FLP has changed my health, our financial future and now gives us what most people only dream about. It has changed our life, and it could change yours too.
